Multicultural

Our famous Midwestern hospitality knows no bounds!

Springfield, Illinois offers plenty of fun, history and appropriate meeting facilities to meetings and events of any cultural background. Our world-famous Abraham Lincoln attractions and sites tell not only stories of a pivotal time in American history, but also universal stories of humanity overcoming great odds to bring equal rights to every man and woman. Springfield is also known as the setting for the 1908 Race Riot, which instigated the formation of the NAACP.

We are proud of our diverse population—spanning from across the globe—which enriches our city with a plethora of unique nightlife, dining experiences, and arts and entertainment venues. In addition, SCVB has played host to many cultural meetings including:

  • NAACP State Convention
  • Association of Philippine Physicians of America
  • IL Minorities in Government
  • IL Association of Agencies & Community Organization for Migrant Advocacy
  • Baptist General State Convention of Illinois
  • Devotional Associates of Yogeshwar

We’d love to welcome your group, meeting, convention, or reunion to take advantage of all that Springfield has to offer. From premiere convention facilities to affordable accommodations to unsurpassed fun and recreation, Springfield meets your each and every need.
