Party Like It's 1860

8/31/2019, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Lincoln Home National Historic Site, 426 S. 7th St. Springfield, IL 62701

Join us as we travel back in time and enjoy an evening of music, games, dance moves, carriage rides, and conversations from the time the Lincolns lived in the neighborhood. The neighborhood where Abraham Lincoln and his family spent seventeen years will come back to life with a live performance from the 33rd Illinois Volunteer Regiment band and park ranger activities. Join volunteers dressed in period clothing for a neighborhood tour and learn about the friendships the Lincoln’s developed with their neighbors. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln will join the block party and will share their memories from the time they lived in their home on Eighth and Jackson Streets. Horse drawn carriage rides will provide a unique Lincoln neighborhood experience! The Block Party will conclude with Abraham Lincoln giving his Farewell Address to Springfield over a campfire.
